Kevin G. Thew Forrester
Priest-in-Charge
Kevin G. Thew Forrester -- the Priest-in-Charge of St. Stephen's -- is a theologian, an interfaith spiritual writer and speaker, and a student and teacher of the soul's journey. Kevin is a certified teacher of the Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition, and has received certification from the Integral Institute. He is a student of the Diamond Approach, and received Jukai from Shoken Winecoff of Ryumonji Soto Zen Buddhist Temple in May, 2004. As Rector, he founded the Healing Arts Centers at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Marquette, and Trinity Episcopal Church in Houghton, Michigan. He is the author of Beyond My Wants, Beyond My Fears, as well as four previous books, including I Have Called You Friends, Holding Beauty in My Soul's Arms, and My Heart is a Raging Volcano of Love for You, along with being a contributing essayist for Progressing Spirit.

Maureen HagenDeaconMaureen's passion, as a Deacon, lies in the journey of Christian education and formation. She helps lead our education and formation ministries, bringing years of experience in academia and non-profit management.

Dale CarrPriestDale is a Board Certified Chaplain, having spent the last 13 years working for Providence ElderPlace in Portland as a Chaplain and Coordinator of Spiritual Care. He has been a Priest Associate at St. Stephen’s since 2005. Previously, he served as Assistant Rector at the Anglican/Episcopal Church of the Ascension – an English speaking congregation in Munich, Germany – for three years, before completing a year-long Clinical Chaplaincy Residency at the Portland VA Medical Center.

Paul DavisMinister for OutreachPaul Davis has has been part of our parish since 2010 and serves as the Executive Director for our meals program and food pantry, called Clay Street Table. Paul is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and, prior to joining our ecumenical staff at St. Stephen’s, served 13 years as Minister for Congregational Life at Portland's First Congregational UCC.

Stephen LewisMusic DirectorStephen Lewis is a pianist, composer, and conductor. In addition to serving as Music Director at St. Stephen's, Stephen also teaches piano and collaborates with local musicians in Portland. Originally from Western Massachusetts, he studied music at UC San Diego and graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with a degree in piano and composition. Stephen leads the choir and accompanies Sunday worship at St. Stephen's!
